80's Color Block Dress

Happy Monday Ladies.....

Call me a 80's Baby... this dress is straight out of the 80's and I love it!! Reminds me of the dresses my mom used to wear to work back in the day LOL.. The vibrant jewel tone colors drew me to the dress and the $3.50 price tag sealed the deal LOL. I have been finding so many great vintage color block dresses that fall right into today's trend. This one hugs the curves and the color placement gives it so much visual interest.  I found some other dresses in this style that I can't wait to wear, gonna post a new Thrift Haul video this week so be on the look out for that :)

1. I was born in Jackson MS and that is where my a majority of my family resides.

2.  I have a birthmark shaped like the United States.. or maybe a pork chop.. lol

3. The smell of cucumber sandwiches makes me gag.. UGGGGHHHHH... i can smell them now... YUCK

4. I can't pronounce the word Vulnerable...

5. I'm a Vampire Fanatic... I LOVE any movie or show that has Vampires!!!

6.  One of my biggest fears is falling and knocking out my teeth.. I literally have nightmares about this happening.

8.  Interior Design is one of my passions... I think design and fashion are closely related and I'm inspired from decor as well as fashion.

1.         Imagine you step purposefully on a highly polished and brightly lit runway immediately upon exiting your front door. What is the theme music that accompanies your every step and what designer are you donning?

My theme music would be "Moves Like Jagger by "Maroon 5" I LOVE THAT SONG and i'd be wearing Roberto Cavalli.. I love his use of animal print it's always sexy and vibrant and hugs the curves.

 

2.         What is your favorite color combination to wear?

Right now it's anything combined with animal print or Leopard Print.. I think Leopard print is the perfect accompliment to make a ensemble sexy and chic.

3.         What current song makes you want to poke your own eyes out?

Any of this ignorant rap music today.. UGH gets on my nerves.. what happened to real Hip Hop!!

4.         What has been the happiest moment of your life (a moment you could cheerfully relive over and over)?

Since I have yet to have children or marry, I'd say the happiest moments of my life have been spent with my close friends sharing in their wonderful life experiences and the birth of all my neices and great niece.

5.         Do you believe in ghosts?

I do believe ghosts (more so spirits) exist, and when I was a child saw my Father's ghost.Je passed away when I was 6 years old and I think he is with me still to this day.

6.         What was the first car you owned?

A Hyundai Excel...

7.         What is the most money you have spent in one trip on a shopping expedition?

          Maybe $500 in one store, as far as shopping for clothes

8.        What is your overall philosophy in regards to fashion?

Fashion is personal and unique to each person, one's style should always honestly reflect their personality. We are all unique and should display that uniqueness. I know what works for me and my body and have developed my sense of style around what I feel I look my best in. It's a experience that should continue to evolve. Mostly I think you should have fun with fashion and enjoy the variety that everyone presents.

9.         Where did you wear your last “having a moment” outfit and what did that awesome outfit consist of?

I haven't worn it yet actually, but I planned to very soon. I will save it as a surprize, but you will see it posted on my blog !!!

10.       What is your favorite make over movie?

Pretty Woman...can watch it over and over

11.       What is your opinion about students being mandated to wear uniforms to school? Are you for it or against it?

I don't have anything against uniforms if it helps parents afford their childrens education, but as far as highschool, I think it shouldn't be mandatory. I know that's when I began to come into my own as far as dressing up and developing my sense of style. Highschool is the beginning of most young womens fashion obsession LOL.. you can finally express yourself, so I wouldn't have wanted to wear a uniform daily to school.

Heyyy It's Friday Again...

This week went by pretty quick actually. I'm glad it's the weekend Bay Bay.. lol.. tonight I get to hang out with my Sweetface Girls (mentor program) I'm apart of. We meet once a month and seems like forever since I last saw them with the holidays and NYE so much has gone on. So tonight we will laugh, talk and catch up as we always do :) this is the start of a great weekend... Hope yours is off to a wonderful start as well.

Mustard ~ N ~ Leo... describes my outfit today. Wearing a Mustard yellow top  and jeans with Leopard print booties and belt. What doesn't go with Leopard print... it's so versatile and any color combo looks great with it. I love to wear it with richer tones, but will also be pairing it with some of the spring trend colors like pastels and lighter hues. 

We got that 3+ inches of snow last night.. so this morning when I woke up I was glad to hear the snow trucks and maintenance men shoveling my drive and walk way. The snow is so pretty and bright, this part of it I enjoy until it gets all dirty and ugly LOL..

Hey Ladies..

I was thinking about how I see so many of my fave bloggers that suffer for fashion. They have the best pictures and venture out in the cold coat less to give the best display of their ensemble.... I'm NOT there yet LOL.. I want to take more scenic pics and not have to use my fireplace as my backdrop everyday but I live in CHICAGO!!! The hawk is NO JOKE ... LOL..  I'm thinking of warmer ways to give my pics more variety :).  Just something that was on my mind this morning... I definitely want to continue to enhance my blog, and I get so much inspiration from all my fellow Fashionista Bloggers :)... Thanks to those who have recently began following my blog... I get so excited when I see that I have a new follower and immediately go to their page and follow right back :).

Today's outfit... Plaid and Denim

My style has definitely changed over the past few years.. Plaid was never a staple in my wardrobe. It seemed old fashion and blah. The cut and style of plaid items never really caught my eye, but since I have began blogging and see how others style plaid it's given me a fresh perspective on how it can really be stylish and chic. So here's my take on wearing plaid.  The skirt is a thrift find from Salvation Army as well at the Denim shirt both are Tommy Hilfiger. I love the small ruffle detail on the shirt. Paired with black riding boots from Charlotte Russe and belt from BCBG outlet. Today we are expecting 3 to 8 inches of snow, so I wanted to be prepared when I leave work today, and not ruin a pair of heels in the snow.  Those of you who live in colder climates know all to well what I'm talking about.

Happy Tuesday Ladies...

Yes... another Pussy Bow Blouse.. LOL.. I KNOW...  I'm obsessed with them, no matter the style, pattern, color... I'm getting it if I see it!!!  I found this one at the thrift store for $1.50.. couldn't pass it up.  By keeping the outfit simple with jeans and lace up booties I feel put casual but still put together.

Happy Monday Ladies

Hope you all had a nice relaxing weekend :) I surely did. I didn't do much, went to the gym and lounged around the house watching movies. That's my kinda weekend :). Didn't get dressed up to take any pics but this morning I was itching to wear something sassy and cute. I've had this dress for over a year and just got around to wearing it. It's from BCBG Outlet.. snagged it for $20!!! I love the body con skirt portion of the dress which makes it sexy and the loose cowl neck, keeps it work appropriate and not to tight or revealing.

Happy Friday Ladies...

Why does the short work weeks always seem the longest LOL... I'm happy it's Friday, the first week of the new year has been busy but great! I got back into my work out regimen (worked out 4 days already) and I'm feeling more energized and excited about what's to come for 2012. I have high expectations for myself this year and plan to work hard to accomplish all the goals I set for myself. 

What specific goals if any do you have for YOURSELF this year?

Today i'm wearing a Oldy but Goody LOL... i've had this cognac velour blazer for years, think I purchased it from the GAP, it never goes out of style, and I look forward to when the weather cools off to wear it. Paired with my leopard scarf, dark denim and Knock Off JC Lita platforms.. i'm feeling casual and chic today.  It's gonna be a busy day today so I better get to it.

Hey Dolls...

Chartruese and Purple... a classic bright color combination that I love together. I was thinking of how to style this purple double breasted blazer I thrifted and found this silky chartruese button up and thought they were the perfect combo, paired with my color block Bendi pumps from Jessica Simpson and high-waisted flare jeans from Old Navy... Wa-La Outfit complete!!!
