Denim ~ N ~ Plaid

Hey Ladies..

I was thinking about how I see so many of my fave bloggers that suffer for fashion. They have the best pictures and venture out in the cold coat less to give the best display of their ensemble.... I'm NOT there yet LOL.. I want to take more scenic pics and not have to use my fireplace as my backdrop everyday but I live in CHICAGO!!! The hawk is NO JOKE ... LOL..  I'm thinking of warmer ways to give my pics more variety :).  Just something that was on my mind this morning... I definitely want to continue to enhance my blog, and I get so much inspiration from all my fellow Fashionista Bloggers :)... Thanks to those who have recently began following my blog... I get so excited when I see that I have a new follower and immediately go to their page and follow right back :).

Today's outfit... Plaid and Denim

My style has definitely changed over the past few years.. Plaid was never a staple in my wardrobe. It seemed old fashion and blah. The cut and style of plaid items never really caught my eye, but since I have began blogging and see how others style plaid it's given me a fresh perspective on how it can really be stylish and chic. So here's my take on wearing plaid.  The skirt is a thrift find from Salvation Army as well at the Denim shirt both are Tommy Hilfiger. I love the small ruffle detail on the shirt. Paired with black riding boots from Charlotte Russe and belt from BCBG outlet. Today we are expecting 3 to 8 inches of snow, so I wanted to be prepared when I leave work today, and not ruin a pair of heels in the snow.  Those of you who live in colder climates know all to well what I'm talking about.

Wishing you a fantabulous day.  Enjoy

  3. I'm glad you added plaid to your wardrobe! I love this look. And I feel you on the variety in photos. I have the same problem... I have to be honest though: my issue has more to do with not wanting to do them in public than with being cold... maybe someday I'll get over it!! :)

  4. You look amazing chickadee! I love plaid! I really love how you styled this outfit...the denim and plaid compliment each other very well. Those boots from CR are adorable. As far as pics, I totally feel you. It is so cold here that I have to figure out ways to spice up my pics WITHOUT going outside. Besides that, I feel really awkward setting up the ipod outside. I got a new camera for Christmas and even though it's an awesome camera I haven't figured out how to get it to take multiple pics. I can only get it to take 1 at a time. It's too cold for that mess, LOL!

    1. Girl I know you know all about this freezing weather lol, even with a tripod I'm not going out in it! I feel ya on needing to learn more features on my camera, cause mine has the multi pic too but I have yet to learn how to use it. Im in process of redecorating my home office and will put up a pretty wallpaper or something lol.

  9. You took a risk by wearing a piece (plaid) that you weren't too sure about and you ROCKED IT! Ahhh, the benefits of being a risk taker...I think I'll follow suit. :-) Regarding the cold, I totally agree with you. Fortunately, we've been having abnormally warm weather in Philly so I can sneak a coatless pic every now and then.

    1. Thanks girly... I sure wouldn't have paid full full price for anything plaid, but since this was a thrift find for $1.50 I went ahead and got it, and now I think I luv plaid... Lol.. We just had 53 degree weather yesterday now we are covered in about 5 inches of snow and it's still coming down.. NO outside pics from me till spring lol!!

  10. Cute, cute, cute!!

Girl, you know I'm outside in this Minnesota weather whenever I get a little bit of daylight! I don't like taking pics in the house, so I suffer through the cold. lol! But I guess I have to take them inside since it's dark when I get home, and I've been so busy on the weekends.

  14. I sometimes wish I had a personal photographer to take nice pics of me outside too, buuuuuut I don't, lol. It's just me and my balcony I actually never even notice backgrounds too much as long as I can see the outfit I am good! Your fireplace is perfectly fine.

I love your skirt! I just purchased a plaid skirt myself I have been a little weary to wear. Next time the temps dip down here I am going to pull it out, thanks for the inspiration.
